OTDR Master Terms of Use

1. Terms and definitions

1.1. Service means the OTDR Master software available at otdrmaster.com for viewing, processing and analysing optical reflectometry files, together with the persons who operate it.

1.2. User means any person using the Service.

1.3. Files means measurement files and other data uploaded by the User to the Service, including any changes (edits) made to them by the User.

1.4. Account means the User’s account in the Service, accessed by email address.

1.5. Report means a document produced by the Service from Files.

1.6. Plan means the terms on which paid features of the Service are provided (the Professional plan).

1.7. Trial means a period of free access to the features of the Plan.

2. Subject matter and acceptance

2.1. These Terms govern the relationship between the Service and the User in connection with the use of the Service.

2.2. Starting to use the Service, including uploading a File, constitutes the User’s full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms. A User who does not agree to these Terms must refrain from using the Service.

2.3. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis.

3. Rights in Files

3.1. All exclusive and other rights in Files remain with the User or the respective rights holders.

3.2. By uploading a File, the User grants the Service a free, non-exclusive licence to store, reproduce, process and analyse the File for the purposes of providing services to the User, operating the Service and extending the range of supported formats. The licence remains in force for as long as the File is stored in the Service.

3.3. The User warrants that they hold the rights required to upload the File and to grant the licence under clause 3.2, and that uploading the File does not breach the User’s obligations under confidentiality agreements, other contracts or access restrictions.

3.4. The User is liable to third parties for the lawfulness of uploading Files.

3.5. The Service shall not:

disclose Files to third parties;
publish Files or use them in examples, demonstration or promotional materials, including materials of the Service itself;
sell or otherwise transfer Files or rights in them, whether for consideration or free of charge;
transfer Files to third-party artificial intelligence services;
make Files available for indexing by search engines;
use information contained in Files about sites, customers and contractors for purposes other than those set out in clause 3.2.

3.6. The restrictions in clause 3.5 do not apply to access to Files by persons who have received a link or code from the User in accordance with section 5.

4. Processing and storage of data

4.1. Files are processed on the Service’s servers. Use of the Service requires an Internet connection.

4.2. Files are stored in the Service until they are deleted in accordance with section 7.

4.3. Edits are stored separately from the original File. The original File is not modified.

4.4. To identify the browser, the Service places a random identifier in it. The identifier contains no information about the User and is not disclosed to third parties.

4.5. The User’s email address is used solely for access to the Account. The Service engages an email service provider to send messages; only the email address is disclosed to that provider.

4.6. Visit statistics are collected using Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics as described on the page What we keep in your browser. The contents of Files are not disclosed to these services.

4.7. The maximum File size is 3 MB.

5. Access by third parties

5.1. The User may create a link to a trace. Any person holding the link may, within 14 (fourteen) days of its creation, obtain a copy of the trace with the User’s edits. Changes made by the recipient to the copy do not affect the User’s File.

5.2. A Report of a User who has an Account bears a code and a QR code linking to an address of the form otdrmaster.com/r/XXXX-XXXX. Any person holding the Report may use that link to obtain a copy of the Report’s traces as at the date the Report was produced. The link remains valid until the User deletes it in the My cabinet section.

5.3. The User alone decides to whom the link or Report is given and is responsible for doing so.

5.4. Pages opened by the links and codes referred to in clauses 5.1 and 5.2 are excluded from indexing by search engines.

6. Functional characteristics

6.1. A .sor file exported from the Service without changes is byte-for-byte identical to the original.

6.2. The Service does not generate synthetic reflectograms.

6.3. Files in third-party formats are read-only and are not exported in their original format. A copy in .sor format containing a record of its source may be created from them.

6.4. A Report is produced solely from the data contained in Files, the changes made by the User and the parameters set by the User, including threshold values. Derived values are calculated from these data. The Service does not include in a Report any information that is neither contained in Files nor set by the User, and does not alter measurement results at its own discretion.

7. Deletion of data

7.1. Files and the email address are deleted at the User’s request sent to support@otdrmaster.com, specifying the Files, site or period. No reason for the request is required.

7.2. Copies of traces in the browser storage are deleted by the User. Such deletion does not delete data on the Service’s servers.

8. Limitation of liability

8.1. The User uses the Service at their own risk. The Service does not warrant that a File will be read, read correctly or displayed in full. Significant values must be verified against the readings of the measuring instrument and its manufacturer’s software.

8.2. The Service contains no regulatory threshold values and does not certify the compliance of communication lines with regulatory requirements.

8.3. The results of automatic event detection are for reference only and may differ from the events marked by the measuring instrument.

8.4. The Service does not confirm the authenticity or accuracy of measurements.

8.5. The Service is not liable for decisions made on the basis of data from the Service or for losses arising from the unavailability or malfunction of the Service.

9. Plan and payment

9.1. The Plan is provided to a User who has an Account for a term of one month or one year.

9.2. Payment is made by transfer of USDT on the TRON network or USDC on the Base network in the amount stated in the invoice, exact to the last digit. An invoice is valid for 24 hours from issue. Network fees are borne by the User.

9.3. A transfer whose amount does not match the invoice amount is not credited automatically. In that case the User shall contact support@otdrmaster.com.

9.4. The Plan term does not renew automatically. It is renewed by a new payment.

9.5. Payments are non-refundable.

9.6. A Trial of 3 (three) days is provided once per Account. At the end of the Trial the Plan is not activated automatically.

9.7. At the end of the paid term or the Trial, access to the features of the Plan ends. The User’s Files, Reports and projects are retained; projects become read-only.

10. Final provisions

10.1. The Service may amend these Terms unilaterally. A new version takes effect on publication unless it provides otherwise. Amendments that extend the use of Files are additionally announced to Users on the pages of the Service.

10.2. Continued use of the Service after a new version of these Terms is published constitutes the User’s acceptance of it.
