Every format was worked out from real instrument files, not from a specification. If yours does not open, send us the file: a new format usually arrives in the next release.

What you do with a trace
Everything you need after the measurement, in one window
A whole drum on one chart
Open the whole drum at once, as a folder or an archive. Eight curves on the chart get their own colours, and a colour belongs to its file: remove the curve next to it and the rest keep theirs. More: comparing traces.
Traces from both ends
A one-way splice reading is off by the difference in backscatter on the two sides of the joint. The average of both directions puts the loss back where it belongs.
File metadata
Job, cable, fibre number, operator, date, index of refraction. The edited file is saved as an ordinary .sor and opens in the vendor software.
Pass/fail thresholds
Enter the limits from the contract, and the table shows which events passed. We never fill in limits of our own: they come from the customer.
Work in the field
On a tablet or a phone the trace fills the screen. One finger pans it, two fingers zoom, a tap places a cursor.
