    • .wtk files from Wavetek MTS 5000 instruments now open.

    • Sign in by email, no password: your work is there on any computer.
    • Your account page: files and reports by day, with a search by date.
    • Pay right in the app: USDT or USDC straight away, or by card, transfer or company invoice through a request. We answer requests within a day.
    • After payment you get an email, and your account page shows how many days are left. You can ask for a reminder a week before the end.
    • Projects: a site's files, thresholds and reports in one place, downloadable as one archive.
    • Cable summary report: a sheet for every fibre, a summary table and an Excel workbook. A large set is built in the background, and you can see how much is left.
    • Cable mode: fibres are checked against the drum's factory data, and the report prints as an incoming inspection sheet.
    • Your own report form: logo, company details, your own fields and signatures.
    • Batch edit: fibre numbers in order and file names from a template.
    • Reverse traces are found across the whole project, not only among the open files.
    • The report carries a QR code and a short address that opens the same traces.
    • The report language can differ from the screen language.
    • Event numbers sit above the plot, and a click on a number selects its table row.
    • Files in the list are numbered: go to a file by its number and page through the list with the arrow keys.
    • A file that is already in the list opens from there instead of uploading again.
    • Row edits in the event table can be undone in one press.
    • Signed in, you can download the report as a CSV table.
    • A manual for the app: every section on one page, with a search box and printing to PDF.

    • The app screen is refreshed: labels, file rows and event marks are easier to read.
    • A file over the size limit says so in words instead of uploading for nothing.
    • The running total column agrees with the span loss.
    • When one place is measured twice, the app asks which measurement is the current one.

    • .tst files from Fluke OptiFiber OTDRs on later firmware now open. Before, such a file would not open.
    • A file can be renamed right in the line above the chart. It downloads under the new name, and the report uses it too.

    Changed

    • A page for owners of Fluke OptiFiber and OptiFiber Pro OTDRs: how to open a .tst file in the browser without LinkWare.
    • When the instrument wrote no event table but “Our analysis” finds events on the trace, the table switch is highlighted.
    • If the wavelength in the file name differs from the one the instrument recorded, the app warns you.
    • In .sor files from EXFO instruments the event table shows the instrument's own marks.
    • The file parameters show the launch cable length from EXFO instruments, as they already did for VIAVI, and the span start where the instrument marked one.

    Fixed

    • When the connection to the server drops, the app says so in a line above the chart and carries on by itself once it is back. Before, clicks at such a moment went nowhere without a word.
    • “Use these” on the instrument's thresholds shows the filled-in figures even when the server has not named the file's wavelength.

    • Pages for owners of Tribrer (T3, T3Lab), FIBERCLOUD (FC4000, 980TEK) and Grandway OTDRs: how to open the instrument's file in the browser with no software to install. The Grandway page is also in Vietnamese.

    • The pages “Open a SOR file”, “SOR to PDF”, “OTDR viewer online” and “Open a TRC file” are now available in Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish.

    • The first row of the table, at the instrument’s connector, is called “start of trace”, and pass/fail thresholds do not apply to it.
    • When the instrument placed a row before the start of the record, the table shows its distance with a minus sign, as the instrument does, instead of a dash. Rows come in the same order as in the instrument's table.
    • “Our analysis” is improved. Instrument rows and reflective events are unaffected.
    • In “Our analysis” the fibre end is found more accurately.
    • The loss of the first event in “Our analysis” is no longer overstated on traces with a long decay after the first connector.

    Fixed

    • A .rar archive with nested folders now opens correctly.
    • The counter-trace picker is now displayed correctly.
    • For rows past the fibre end the instrument marked, the app no longer suggests taking a counter-direction trace.

  14. v1.6.0

    New

    • If the same curve is opened under two names, the app says so: “one measurement under different names”. In an acceptance folder this shows a fibre handed in twice.
    • File parameters now show the measurement direction and the launch cable when a VIAVI or Acterna instrument recorded them, and the instrument model when the header leaves it blank. The report now fills in the direction and the fibre number when the instrument recorded them.
    • For EXFO files the parameters show the reflectance threshold, and the totals show the span length where there used to be a dash.
    • In the PON view a row you have given a nominal to shows the word “splitter” next to the instrument’s event type.
    • The site has a page of example traces, where an example opens with one click, and an article on reading someone else’s OTDR report.

    Changed

    • Distances are counted from the instrument’s front panel, as the instrument counts them, and no longer differ from its own.
    • In “Our analysis” the fibre end sits more accurately.
    • In the demo the “Next” button first shows the step on screen and leads on with the following press. The “What is here” shelf is now called “All features”.

    Fixed

    • A span loss the record could not have measured (8192 dB, for example) no longer reaches the totals.
    • In “Our analysis” our rows past the span marker no longer disappear when the instrument itself marked no fibre end.
    • When you open a batch of documents instead of traces, one note under the list of names says what these files are and what to open instead.
    • The demo no longer closes by itself in the middle of a step.

  15. v1.5.0

    New

    • A guided demo: open an example and the app shows what it can do. An «It is an example» badge, a step-by-step tour — cursors and the 2P, LSA and 5P readings, an event row, pass/fail thresholds, the report — and a «What is here» shelf that replays any step.
    • The demo carries an example pair of counter-direction traces and an example PON network with a 1×4 and 1×8 splitter cascade: the pair average and the excess over the power split are visible on ready-made files, with none of your own.

    Fixed

    • In the PON view the «not measured beyond here» row no longer disappears when an instrument step stands next to it: the refusal keeps its own row in the table, and the span diagram shows a dashed line beyond it.
    • Cursor readings no longer cover the labels of overlaid curves in the measurement row.

  16. v1.4.3

    Fixed

    • Single-wavelength .msor files written by VIAVI SmartOTDR now open, and you can edit and save them like any .sor. Before, such a file did not open at all.

    Changed

    • The note on positions where an event sits on most fibres on the chart now shows in the ordinary view too, without “Our analysis”. In the ordinary view it counts the instrument’s rows, in “Our analysis” ours.
    • On a narrow window the file’s parameters are laid out in two columns when there is room: the panel is half as tall, and there is less to scroll.

    Fixed

    • When an archive opens only in part, the selection window names each file left out and the reason.
    • For an archive of traces from different fibres, the selection window no longer claims it holds one trace per wavelength.
    • Safari now shows the report sheet before you save it. Before, there was a blank white area in its place.
    • An impossible ORL value is no longer shown as a measurement.

  18. v1.4.1

    Fixed

    • Agilent E6000 files are now read in full: the event table, the acquisition settings and the wavelength.

    New

    • .zip, .7z and .rar archives open without unpacking when there are traces inside. The traces arrive as a list, and you can open them all at once or pick the ones you need. Handy on a phone, where there is nothing to unpack an archive with.
    • A cookie consent window. In Europe the analytics counters do not load until you press “Accept all”, and you can change your mind with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page on the site.

    Changed

    • The file list now holds 96 traces instead of 8, enough for a 48-fibre cable at two wavelengths. The chart still shows up to 8 curves at once, so each keeps a colour you can tell apart.
    • The file card in the list shows the wavelength, and for bidirectional .bdr files the direction as well: A→B or B→A.

  20. v1.3.0

    New

    • PON mode. You pick the splitter ratio in the event row, and the excess over the power split appears next to its loss. The mode is free.

    • A Share button. The link works for two weeks: the recipient opens a copy of the trace with your edits and can edit that copy without touching yours.
