Open LinkWare fibre test results without LinkWare PC

A LinkWare .flw database opens in the browser. You see the loss tests fibre by fibre: the loss at each wavelength, the limit, the margin and the verdict the instrument recorded. There is nothing to install, and any operating system will do.

Fibre loss and power tests open. Copper certification results (DSX) do not.

What you will see

A database holds many tests, and each becomes a row of the table: the fibre, the result, the length, the worst loss, the margin and the date. The selected test is laid out under the table.

Loss

The loss at each wavelength and in each direction, the limit and the margin to it. Next to them, the length of the link and its limit.

The instrument's verdict

Pass or fail was recorded by the instrument itself, together with the standard it judged by. We print it as it is and add no judgement of our own.

Reference and instruments

The reference power and when the reference was set, both units with their modules, serial numbers and calibration dates. All of it is shown where the instrument recorded it.

No need to install LinkWare

Fluke's own program for .flw databases is LinkWare PC. It runs on Windows and has to be downloaded and installed.

Here the file opens in the browser: on Windows, macOS and Linux, on a tablet and on a phone. No account needed.

A PDF sheet prints for the selected fibre. After signing in by email the sheet carries a code and a QR: your customer uses them to open the same result in their own browser. On the Professional plan the sheet prints on your template, with your logo and company details. A summary sheet for all the fibres of the file, with the outcome and the table of fibres on its first page, is part of the Professional plan too.

Which instruments open

Tests from these instruments open as rows by wavelength and direction, the way a LinkWare report prints them.

CertiFiber, DTX, DSP, OMNIScanner

CertiFiber Pro and CertiFiber, DTX CableAnalyzer, DSP and OMNIScanner: loss with the limit, the margin and the result of each row, the length with its limit, and both instruments.

MultiFiber Pro

An MPO connector opens as twelve fibres, each on its own row, and the polarity is named. Both the loss test and the power test open.

SimpliFiber Pro and SimpliFiber

Loss against a reference power, or a power reading. These instruments record no limit, so such tests carry no verdict.

For a test from an instrument we do not know yet, a summary opens: the result, the standard, the length, the worst loss and the margin.

Results in the cloud, without LinkWare Live

LinkWare Live is Fluke's cloud service that Versiv testers upload their results to. If what you need is not to manage testers but to hand a result to a customer and find it later, signing in by email is enough. Every sheet goes into your cabinet and can be downloaded again from any device, and with the code on the sheet your customer opens the same result in their own browser.

A tester does not upload results to us by itself: you bring the database file. Projects work with OTDR traces for now, not with loss tests.

What is not here

  • Copper certification results do not open.
  • OTDR traces and end-face images from the same database do not appear in the list of loss tests. OptiFiber and OptiFiber Pro traces open as .tst files.
  • There is a file size limit, and the terms of use name it. A database that also holds traces and end-face images can be heavier than that.
