Open a Grandway OTDR file without OTDR Viewer

.sor files from Grandway OTDRs, the FHO5000 included, open in the browser: the trace, the event table and the instrument header. There is nothing to install, and any operating system will do.

Open a Grandway file

Many Grandway instruments write only the maker's name into the file, with no model. Such a file opens just the same.

What you will see

Grandway writes an ordinary Telcordia .sor. We read all of it, exactly as the instrument wrote it.

Trace and events

The trace with zoom and cursors A and B, and the instrument's event table: connectors, splices and the fibre end, with loss and reflectance.

Instrument header

Wavelength and pulse, date of the shot, and everything else the instrument wrote about itself.

Many files at once

Open one trace, a folder of files from one ODF or a .zip archive. Traces can be laid over one another on a single chart.

No need to install OTDR Viewer

Grandway has its own PC program, OTDR Viewer. It comes on a disc in the box; on the maker's website it downloads only after you log in to an account, and it runs on Windows.

Here the file opens by link in the browser: on Windows, macOS and Linux, on a tablet and on a phone. No account needed. The PDF report and a link for a colleague are made right there, free.
